Hours: Full Time, 40 hours weekly
This position reports to: Managing Director of Finance/Controller
The mission: Seacoast Church goes all out in our mission to help others Find God, Grow their Faith, Discover their Purpose, and Make a Difference. With a staff of 300+ dedicated to our mission, the Senior Accountant is a highly motivated and experienced individual who uses accounting and analytical skills to manage financial reporting, prepares for annual audit, and assists in budget processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under leadership of Controller, oversees month end closing and accounting practices of the Accounting Team
- Prepares monthly adjusting journal entries; examines journal entries of team members, reviews for accuracy and approval for posting
- Reviews expense accounts for coding discrepancies and reconcile differences
- Reconciles bank statements and balance sheet accounts
- Ensures all church receipts and expenses are reviewed, flagging concerns or questions to the Controller
- Reconciles General Ledger to Contributions System
- Assists counting and processing tithe income for all organizational locations
- Guides the activities of personnel engaged in recording and transmitting financial records
- Prepares and records fixed asset transactions and depreciation
- Assists controller with monthly reports. Inform management regarding the finances of Seacoast
- Assists controller with review of budget numbers versus actuals costs by department and locations
- Develop or modify personal desk procedures to ensure changes in our record keeping policies, accounting systems or other current computer technology stay up-to-date and are maintained on our accounting directory
- Assists with contribution inquiries from donors
- Prepares checklist items for annual audit under guidance of Controller. Provides external auditors’ information as requested
- Ensures integrity of financial data
- Protects the accuracy and integrity of financial data by reviewing accounting records, financial statements, and reports for completeness and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and our procedures
- Manage corporate credit card accounting and settings: supports the card software, handles credit limit increase requests, answers coding and policy questions from cardholders, reconciles transactions to statements, and uploads final transactions to accounting software
- Reconciles credit card transactions monthly
- Partners with the Controller to train new staff in procedures, software, account codes, etc.

- Actively participates in weekly team meetings; attend all 1-on-1 meetings with leader; and attend monthly All-Staff meetings
- Supports the goals of the Business Office by demonstrating teamwork and performing other duties as requested with excellence
Job Essentials:

- Minimum three years core accounting or auditing experience is required. Degree in Accounting Required. CPA preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills are necessary along with willingness to learn additional software as needed

- Effective administrator, multi-tasker, detail-oriented and time manager who upholds policies and procedures
